Soil of the experimental farm "De Schreef" at Oost Flevoland, a Dutch polder, was heated at temperature of 50 degree, 55 degree and 60 degree C for 30 minutes in a soil pasteurizer adopted from Bollen (1969). Soil microflora was identified by soil dilution plate method and by soil washing method. There were 200 isolates obtained from soil dilution plates and the washed soil particles. These isolates belong to more than 40 species. There were some isolates which could survive high temperature, such as Actinomycetes, Yeast, Pseudorotium zonatum, Beauveria alba, Sagenomella sp., Aspergillus versicolor and Paecilomyces marquandri which survived at 60 degree C. The mechanism by which these isolates survived to heat treatment was suggested.
