Effect of cow health status during the late pregnancy and the management system on the colostrum composition and the serum protein level in calves

Investigations on 43 Lowland-Black-and-White cows in tethered stall system and on 22 cows in a loose housing were carried out. Effect of housing system, feeding level and the health status on the colostrum immunoglobulin content was stated. No effect of colostrum protein content on the total protein level in calf blood serum was observed
