Two boron (B) deficiency tolerant wheat lines (INIA66 and CMU26) were crossed with two B deficiency susceptible lines (SW41, SW23). The parents, the F1, F2, and backcross populations derived from both crosses were evaluated in sand culture watered with a nutrient solution containing 0.2 mM B. The analysis of variance of generation means showed significant genotypic variation. Additive gene action was predominant in the expression of tolerance. Broadsense and narrowsense heritabilities of the two crosses were 50-58 per cent and 35-42 per cent, respectively. The results of this study indicated that selection for tolerance to B deficiency by direct selection should be effective
