Tissue culture of Cocoyam, Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L) schott

Describes a procedure for callus induction from Xanthosoma buds and organ differentiation from established callus tissue. Results show that all the required stages in the tissue culture propagation were achieved. The paper concludes that the tissue culture methodology requires much improvement and indicates that research continues in this field to select the best media and culture conditions for the different stages of tissue culture propagation by explants from axillary buds and budscales.
