Effect of sulfur on peanut yield grown on gray podzolic soils

Effect of sulfur on peanut yield grown on Gray Podzolic Soils was studied at Phrae farmer's field in the 1984 rainy season. The experiment was conducted using a randomized complete block design with 5 replications. Treatments consisted of four rates of sulfur which were 0, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 kgs./rai. Application of fertilizers at the rate of 7-7-7 kg N-P2O5-K2O/rai were done for all plots. Sulfur application increased peanut pod yield by 34-48 %, but decreased shelling percentage. For seed quality, sulfur significantly increased protein content by about 3-6 %.
