Control of aflatoxin in corn by using of a mould inhibitor myco-curb

Myco-Curb could control fungi and bacterial growth at any concentration and grain moisture content. The rates of application are directly correlated to the grain moisture contents. However, the concentration rate of 2 liters per ton grain was the most effective and more economical use of this chemical at 14 % seed moisture contents. It is interesting to mention that the contents of proteins, fat and energy before and after treatment were not changed. Furthermore, Myco-Curb did not change grain color, odorless, pleasant smelling, noncorrosive to steel container. In one of the trials which is designed to imitate the farmers as well as the middlemen handling corn grain. The experiment was conducted that corn grain was treated with Myco-Curb before and after decreasing of grain moisture content at different timing. Corn grain treated with this compound at 2 litres/ton-grain before drying was the most effective and at the same experiment the application of chemical at 1 litre each ton grain right after harvest and after decreased moisture content was also the most effective to reduce aflatoxin production. The results were evaluated on the basis of the number of colonization and propagule of A.Flavus as well as the levels of aflatoxin.
