Control of root knot nematode disease of jute through soil amendment [in Bangladesh]

Amendment of soil with lime, jute seed powder, potash, sulphur and mustard oil cake reduced infestation of root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) on jute (Variety D-154) and also increased growth of plants. Lime, old jute seed powder, potash and sulphur were more effective than mustard oil cake. Efficacy to check root- knot was greater in potash, jute seed powder and sulphur than lime and mustard oil cake.
