Correlation studies and path analysis with 70 selected lentil germplasm showed the grain yield was positively correlated with days to flowering, days to maturity, plant height, pods per plant, seeds per pod and harvest index while negatively correlated with 1000-grain weight and sterility was negatively correlated with all the characters studied but positively with 1000-grain weight. Maximum direct positive contribution towards yield was observed by plant height followed by harvest index, number of pods per plant and seeds per pod; but days to flowering, days to maturity and sterility percentage had direct negative effect on yield. The positive indirect effect of days to flowering and days to maturity through plant height and pods per plant on yield were also observed.
