A combination tool for heavy soils plowing

The traditional methods of tillage have shown that in heavy soil tillage the cost-effectiveness and quality factors of plowing tend to deteriorate abruptly. In this connection a combination tool for tillage of heavy soils has been developed and tested at the Agricultural Machinery Department of the Russe Technical University. The principle of the tool consists in a preliminary strip cutting of the area in front of the plow bottom at a fixed depth by disk colters. A multi-factor experiment has been conducted during the examination of the tool, which has revealed the advantages of the new method of tillage. The paper offers the data from such examinations as well as the comparative results.
