[Characterization of lemon blooming, fruit growth and production [cvs. Genova, Lisboa]]

Blooming, fruit production, and growth pattern of lemon tress (Citrus limon (L) Burm), cvs. Genova and Lisboa, of a grove located in Mallarauco, Province of Melipilla, Chile, were characterized in the 1990/91 season. The different parameters evaluated were bloom intensity and distribution according to the seasonal period, production, distribution, characteristics of the mature fruit, and the growth at the equatorial diameter of fruits set in the fall and spring. Observations were made every 30 days by counting bloom number in four 2 to 3 year old branches per tree, weighing and counting the number of silver-colored fruits, and collecting 10 fruits per tree to evaluate the characteristics of the mature fruit. In addition, the equatorial diameter of 10 fruits in 5 trees of each cultivar was measured
