[Situation and perspectives of Chilean walnuts in the foreign markets]

The world's production and trade situation of walnuts was analyzed, considering the six principal producers and exporters countries of walnuts in the world. It was described the distribution, production, exportation and consumption per capita of each country. On the other hand, it was described the present situation of the international commerce of walnuts, parsing the world's supply and demand of the in shell and shelled product. Also, the prices fixing factors were identified. The national situation was analyzed considering the planted area, yields, production's destiny and the prices registered in the internal and external market. Furthermore, the main interesting markets for Chile were analyzed, for the in shell and shelled product, considering, moreover, the potential markets, in Europe, South America and Asia. Finally, there were described the container and packing requirements, and the limiting factors in product's quality
