The effect of Pythium oligandrum on the health condition of winter wheat roots

The model provocative trial was conducted on solid agar medium. The best health condition of roots had the plants emerging from caryopses laid into mycelium of Pythium oligandrum after 21 days of cultivation of the natural seed and subsequently germinating plants of winter wheat. The lowest number of healthy roots was recorded after laying the untreated wheat caryopses into the stand of phytopathogen Gaumannomyces graminis and after laying the caryopses on uninoculated agar area. In the small-plot field trial the least infested were the roots of plants germinating from the seed treated by biopreparation of the powder formulation with an active agent Pythium oligandrum compared with the plants germinating from the seed treated with chemical standard Agronal (chemical control) and the plants germinating from the untreated seed (absolute control)
