The results of using of the Dutch Black-Spotted breed for the improvement of the Estonian Black-Spotted breed

During 1957-1982, 62 bulls and 1106 heifers in total were bought from Holland. Among the 58 bulls progeny tested until 1987, 52 bulls turned out to be the improvers of the daughters' productivity qualities. The lines of Constantijn Frans, Bontjes Adema and Oldambster Adema are the most perspective Dutch lines. The import of the heifers has shown that the cows of Dutch Black-Spotted Breed were able to give high milk yields and weren't worse in comparison with the cows imported from Denmark and Germany. The milk fat content was even higher
