Serum protein electroforetic values are presented from 36 dogs with leishmaniasis. The relative (per cent) and absolute (g per litre) values, for each protein fraction identified, are given as mean (X) and standard deviation (+S). A very significant broad increase of y-globulins was observed which the mean value was 29.07 g/lit or (37.78%) while in 50 clinically normal dogs that we examined the mean value for y-globulins was 4,16 g/lit or (7.29%). At the same time a significant decrease in albumin was observed which the mean value was 19.84 g/lit or(25.68%) the value for normal dogs was 30.98 g/lit or (54.4%).Despite the decrease of albumin, the total serum protein was 78.89 g/lit in the dogs with leishmaniasis and 56.42 g/lit in the normal dogs. We think that this is due to the significant increase of y-globulins
