The balers for making quadratic small bales may be used for picking up and baling rough fodder and wheat straw. The fodder or straw in swathes is picked up by the swather with elastic fingers and delivered to the feeder. The bales are fastened at two points by the binding mechanism. The length of the bale can be stagelessly regulated between 40 and 120 cm. During the field testing, the K-420 type showed a less, the K-430 a slightly better (higher) performance. The attainable performance with the machines 6-8 t/h is suitble both in harvesting lucerne or straw. The compactness of the bale (rough fodder) is 150-170 kg/cu.m, while in the case of straw 85-95 kg/cu.m, and this value is the advisable setting
