The purpose of this experiment was to find out the effect of initial population of Meloidogyne spp. to pathogenicity of F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici. The experiment was conducted at Segunung Horticultural Research Station from January to April 1988. A factorial completely randomized design was used in this experiment, consisted of two factors i.e. initial population of Meloidogyne spp. (0, 1000, and 2000 larvae) and inoculum densities of F. oxysporum f sp. lycopersici (0, 10.000, and 100.000.000), respectively. All treatment combinations were repeated five times. The result showed that the highest wilt incidence was found at combinations of 2000 larvae of Meloidogyne spp. and 108 spores/ml of F. oxysporum. The incubation period of the fungus in the tomato plant due to such treatment combination was about 34 days after inoculation of F. oxysporum. Mean-while, the greatest numbers of gall was found in the plant inoculated by 2000 larvae of Meloidogyne spp. without inoculation of the fungus. Number of gall did not seem to be influenced by inoculation of F. oxysporum f sp. lycopersicon.
