[The effect of Annona muricata leaves extract on the estrous cycle of virgin mice]

The effect of Annona muricata leaves extract on the estrous cycle was studied. Four treatments of this extract were carried out with 0 percent, 5 percent, 10 percent and 15 percent concentrations respectively. Vaginal smears were used to determine the oestrous cycle by microscopic examination of the epithel cells. The result showed that 10 percent dosages of A. muricata leaf extract is the most effective in shortening the oestrous cycle of mice, namely 3.75 days, whereas the other dosages showed much longer oestrous cycles of more than 4 days
