Yahya, N.H.A. (Balai Penelitian Tanaman Pangan Bogor (Indonesia))
In Indonesia the bacterial blight of soybean is one of the important diseases, thus the resistant varieties are very useful for controlling the disease. Green house screening of soybean varieties (Glycine max) to bacterial blight was conducted at Plant Pathology Department of BORIF in wet season of 1988/89. About fifty varieties of soybean were screened by rubbing inoculation method with carborundum and suspension of inoculum. The results indicated that there were varieties of soybean such as Economic Garden, Pl253662 and shih-shih as the resistant varieties (R) and six varieties of Kedelai Bali, No. 2471, Burdetle, Matsuura, ACADIAN and HARDEDE as the moderately resistant varieties (MR) to bacterial blight. The writer hoped those results were useful to the breeder in finding new varieties
