Crown management on the basis of crown shape in rubber is a useful agronomical technique to decrease wind damage. Generally in crown management it is recommended that crown height needs to be managed half of the crown width, so that the central point of crown is in the middle of the trunk. In conical crown shape priority should be given to crown width management in order to decrease the crown weight pressure on the branches. For oval crown shape priority is the crown length management, while for the global shape crown height management is more important. In branch induction and planting density determination, crown shape and branch growth need to be considered in order to develop balanced crown shape and to minimize air layer around the crown that may increase wind pressure on the crown
