The authors surveyed the vegetation of summer grazing lands in the Mongolian People's Republic from July to August 1990 as members of the scientific research project in the Gobi region. The survey was made in eight locations in Bajankhongor and Omnogov' prefectures which cnsisted of 5 locations (No. 1-3, 5-6) in the desert-steppe zone of vegetation, 1 location (No. 4) in the desert zone and 2 locations (No. 7-8) in the wooded-spette zone. The sampling survey was carried out by the nest-quadrat method (100 * 100cm). From the results of the floristic composition according to SDR2 (the summed dominance ratio based on the canopy cover ratio and the height ratio) and frequency, the predominant species of vegetation in each location were as follows; locations No. 1, 2 and 6: Allium spp. and Stipa gobica, location No. 3 and 5: Allium spp. and Salsola ruthenica, location No. 4: Anabasis brevifolia and Stina gobica, location No. 7: Thymus serpyllum, Stipa Klemenzii and Arenaria capillaris, and location No. 8: Agropyron cristatum and Artemisia frigida
