Blood samples taken from 2741 rodents in different geographic zones of Mongolia were tested, using serological methods for Coxiella burnetii infestation. It was found that the infestation varied depending on the geographical zone. In particular, 10 per cent of the infested rodents were in the forest-steppe zone, while 14.8-15 per cent were in the steppe, Gobi zone and desert areas. The infestation rate depends on the types and number of the rodent population in any one area. The results of the investigation show that C. burnetii in rodents was spread throughout the geographic zones of Mongolia
