Effect of feed phosphate particle size on phosphorus utilization and mineral balance in sheep

An experiment on 25 wethers fed a diet supplemented by feed phosphate in 2 physical states: powder or granule was carried out. The significant higher Na and lower P absorption and retention in wethers given the powder phosphate than in those given granules was stated. No effect of phosphate particle size on Ca and Mg absorption and retention in wethers was observed
