Influence of some meteorological factors on the population of aphis Cinara pectinatae Noerdl
1993
Galuszka, H. | Tworek, K. (Krakow Agricultural University, (Poland). Dept. of Bee)
One of the reasons of the study was the difficulty in forecasting the occurrence of honeydew. It has been investigated in several institutes in Central Europe. Current experiment on the bionomics of the chief producer of honeydew in fir forests, the aphis Cinara pectinatae on the roofing fir-trees and without roof allowed the determination of its population density. It has been determined that heavy rains (over 20 mm/24 h) at the time of appearance of partly winger Cinara pectinatae morfs (at the end of June and the beginning of July) reduced to a high extent the number of honeydew producers. One should start with the prognosis of honeydew flow on Abies alba in the first decade of July
