The investigations were carried out in 1986-90. Differences between particular sectors in cultivation conditions and particularly in application of production means were found. Potatoes were cultivated mainly in private farms; this crop species is technologically neglected and in low yielding. The sugar beet cultivation intensity in the structure of sowings is approximate in both sectors. Similar is also the technology level, while the yields are higher in private farms. Winter rape constitues a main crop in state farms. The share of sowings, the level of technology, expenditures and yields of rape are somewhat higher in state than private farms
