The results of investigations of the influence of preservation agent addition to the green fodder, the place of its addition to the green fodder in the gathering straw cutter on its intermixing uniformity with the green fodder, as well as on the level of its losses, have been presented. For the purpose of successful realization of investigations, the models of equipment for metering the solid and fluid preservation agent have been elaborated and performed. The selection of the model which revealed the best uniformity and metering regularity of addition of the preservation agent, has been made
