Results of seed tests. IV. Fungi on seeds in single-seed tests of faba bean [Vicia faba]

Vicia faba L. seeds were tested for fungi in single-seed tests of faba bean by germinating 150 and 100 seeds on 2,4 D-water agar and on a moistened blotter, respectively. The fungi appeared in single and multiple infections. Alternaria alternata, Ascochyta fabae and Penicillium sp. were the predominant species on both agar and blotter. Some known pathogenic Fusarium ssp. also were identified, and Neocosmospora vasinfecta was observed for the first time in Hungary from a faba bean host. This fungus was identified from a single infection on one blotter
