Sorption properties of orthic luvisol based on parameters of charge characteristics (pHo, ZPC, etc.) were studied. The charge of these indices in soil profile was compared with parameters which characterize the soil texture, chemical properties, content and quality of soil organic matter. The highest values pHo and ZPC were found out in Bt-horizon (pHo=2.799 and 2.753, ZPC=2.849 and 2.770), where is the highest amount of physical clay. The analogical tendency in soil profile was in values of residual charge at the determined ZPC, which fluctuated in the interval 1.162-2.249 cmol (p).kg-1 of soil. The values of surface electric potential of soil colloids in soil profile were changed from -213.7 to -230.2 mV in the soil horizon and from -333.6 to -338.1 mV in soil substrate. The results confirmed the relation between charge characteristics and indices of sorption properties in the studied soil.
