Defines marketing as working with actual and potential buyers of a product to bring about exchanges to meet requirements of the consumer. States that the extension officers responsibility is to assist farmers in planning for the market, bearing in mind the product, the buyer and the market place. The most important role of the extension officer is seen as maintaining the flow of information from the marketing agencies to the farmer and from the farmer to the marketing agency.
