The concentrations of nutrient elements and heavy metals in Estonian and Finnish soils were at the same level. The P content in Estonia was high and concern should be given to its possible polluting effects to watercourses. Cd and Pb concentrations are at the average international level. Measures to prevent further pollution with respect to these elements should be planned
