This report refers to 4 cases of canine leukemic lymphoma involving 3 male and one female purebred dogs (Gekas of Greek hound, Miniature Poodle, Collie, German Shepherd). Their age ranged from 2 to 7 years and their body weight from 6 to 25 kg. Two of the dogs were euthanised at owner's request and the other 2 died because of the disease. The dogs were admitted at the Clinic of Medicine, Veterinary School, Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki, because all of them had presented non specific and severe systemic signs, running a short course. Pale mucous membranes (3 cases), hepatosplenomegaly (3 cases), fever (2 cases), peripheral lymphadenopathy (2 cases), splenomegaly (1 case) where the main clinical findings were detected at physical examination. Peripheral lymphocytosis, being spectacular in 2 cases, was the most outstanding laboratory finding. According to WHO criteria the anatomic type has been classified as generalized in 2 cases. The other two cases couldn't fit into any of the four main anatomic types namely generalized, alimentary, thymic and cutaneous. Histologically and hematologically they were classified as lymphoma with intermediate differentiation (2 cases) and well-differentiated lymphoma (2 cases). One of these two last cases has been further characterized as Hodgkin's-like lymphocytic lymphoma. The histological pattern was diffuse in all dogs.
