Changes in the political system in 1991-92 in former socialist countries anticipated necessity for changes in the economy also. New governments aimed at privatising state, semi-state and cooperative sectors. Diverse countries envisaged different methods to privatise trade, services and industry, e.g. zero or token payment for state property, privatisation started by the firm, reprivatisation, or purchasing by managers of the firm. All these have in common that reprivatisation, i.e. restoration to the original owner is very limited
