New possibilities to avoid damaging orchards by game in winter
1994
Nadasdy, M. | Takacs, A. | Paloc, A. (Pannon Agrartud Egyet., Keszthely (Hungary). Novenyved. Int.)
Antivad, a game repellent developed by the authors and repelling game both by taste and stench, decreased the damage in orchards below 5 %, whereas damage caused by chewing amounted to 30-40 % on the untreated control areas. The best results /l-3 %/ were obtained when the treatment of the whole orchard with evil smelling preparations /Vadicell, Vadoc/ was combined with individual marginal Antivad treatment. Antivad does not only protect the trunks but also the young shoots. Its effect does not depend on the weather
