Among 6 treatments in spring /wound treatment with Vulneron; wound treatment with Vulneron + Decis spraying; Decis spraying; oil treatment with Agrol; oil and pesticide treatment with Agrol and Decis; mechanical treatment of wounds with wire brush/, the Agrol + Decis treatment proved most effective: as compared with the control, in 1992 94.7 % of the larvae and pupae died, and in 1993 even 98 %, whereas in this second year also the treatments only with Decis or only with Agrol gave significant results. In both years, wound treatment with Vulnerol and mechanical treatment gave minimal results as compared with the other treatments
