Rooting propensity and shade requirements of coffee arabica cultivar Ruiru 11 stem cuttings
1993
Wamatu, J.N.
Two nursery trials were carried out to determine rooting ability of coffee arabica stem cuttings, and to establish shade requirements for rooted stem cuttings. Results showed that cuttings from all the six nodes of the suckers were able to root without any application of growth hormones with less than 50% success for most nodes. The number and length of roots did not depend on cutting source. Artificial shade requirement for stem cuttings was also established but little influence on the rooting of cuttings was observed
