Bacterial wilt (Pseudomonas solanacearum) resistance of fifty-four varieties introduced from Malaysia. Sixteen commercial and four newly introduced resistant varieties were evaluated. Nineteen varieties from Malaysia were resistant in 1987. Only "LS2380" and "D-9" among nineteen varieties were found to be highly resistant by artificial inoculation in 1988. No resistant variety was selected in the commercial fresh market varieties. The resistance of the root-stock varieties ranged from highly resistant to susceptible. "GA1565-2-4BWT" showed the highest resistance among four newly introduced varieties
