Progress of participatory management: reconnaissance results

This report is a product of the Monitoring and evaluation of the Participatory Irrigation System Management Policy being carried out jointly by IIMI and ARTI under the auspices of the Ministry of Forestry, Irrigation and Mahaweli Development. The work is funded by TA no.1705 SRI from the Asian Development Bank. The objectives of monitoring and evaluation are to determine the progress and evaluate the impacts of the three participatory management programs, recommending improvements and suggesting alternatives in cases where it seems participatory management is not effective in achieving its goals; and to develop indicators and other means by which the Government can monitor the progress and impacts of participatory management in the future.
