Utilization of Trichoderma-treated farm by-products as feed for livestock and poultry; 1: a preliminary study on the nutrient composition of Trichoderma-treated farm by-products at different duration of decomposition
1994
de Leon, F.F. Jr. (Bicol Univ., Guinobatan, Albay (Philippines). Coll. of Agriculture)
This study was conducted to determine the nutrient composition of Trichoderma-treated farm by-products at different duration of decomposition for future biological trials. Totally decomposed Trichoderma-treated rice straw had relatively the best nutrient composition than untreated rice straw and rice straw treated for short durations. Totally decomposed Trichoderma-treated corn stover had no significant advantage on the gross nutrient composition than control and other durations treatments. Generally, there was a progressive increase in crude ash content as the number of days of decomposition was increased
