The amounts of organic C, humus fractions, P2O5, K2O, CaO and the pH were determined in the medium soil. The soil contained 39 percent of clay particles. This testing was carried out from the 4th to the 7th year of the static crop succession experiment. It was found that in 2-course crop rotations with cereal crops or cereal - root crops there was a tendency toward the decrease of N and C content. The highest level of N but the lowest of P2O5 was determined in the soil in Norfolk type crop succession. The most beneficial ratio of humus fractions was detected in 3-field rotation with cereal crops and horse bean
