Effect of genotype and environment on the occurrence of unhulled caryopses in timothy

The proportion of unhulled seed was determined in seed samples of 6 timothy cultivars from two 3-years experiments. The effect of years, cultivars, maturity stages and genotypes was evaluated on the basis of estimates of variance components. The results of the first cycle of selection toward both increased and reduced unhulled seed content are presented
