Content of major chemical constituents in the plants grown in 2-, 3- and 4-field crop rotation on the medium soil

In the years 1986-89 the content of chemical macrocompounds was determined in the grain and straw material from winter wheat and spring barley grown in 10 crop succession systems differing with the structure of sowing and the length of rotation. The differences in examined macrocompounds were found to be relatively small. An increased content of proteins and decrease in ash amount was stated only in the wheat grain material originating from the plants grown in 4-course crop rotation after pea. The amounts of P2O5 and K2O found in grain were relatively higher in wheat grown in 2-course crop rotation with barley. The differentiation in examined compounds in the grain of spring barley was not significant and unequivocally dependent on performed crop successions
