The purpose of the present study was laboratory evaluation of the effect of feeding bees sugar containing ionophore cocciodiostats: salinomycin and narasin on Nosema apis Z. infection. The analysis has shown significant decrease in Nosema apis spore number 7 and 10 days after feeding of bees with 50 percent sucrose syrup containing 2 mg-percent salinomycin or narasin every day during 10 days after inoculation. Salinomycin was more effective in reducing spore number in inoculated bees than narasin. The concentration of both ionophore antibiotics (2 mg-percent) appeared non-toxic to bees during the period of study
