The results of researches concerning ecopedological suitability for apple-tree in Romania have shown major climatic and edaphical factors involved in the growth and bearing of this specia. The paper presents the main criteria for evaluation of land suitability with respect to apple tree cultivation: climate, soil properties including edaphic volume, texture, organic matter content, soil pH, base saturation degree, soil aluminium and calcium carbonate content, salic-alhalic conditions and relief and drainage. Analytical data and biometrical measurements have permitted the emphasizing of five classes of land suitability: with no restriction, with low, medium and high restriction and totally unsuitable
