Agrotechnogenic transformation of sod-podzolic soils of the Non-chernozemic zone mineralogical composition [Russian Federation]
1994
Chizhikova, N.P.
A set of unfavourable processes has been revealed in the arable horizons of loamy sod-podzolic soils in case of high dozes of mineral fertilizers application without liming and manuring; these are: peptilization of the soil fine disperse components, migration of peptization products, mechanical disintegration of fine disperse silty fractions, destruction of minerals with smectite packet, non-exchangeable fixation of potassium and ammonia ions from fertilizers. Hence, the content of hydromica, kaolinite, fine disperse quartz increases in the arable layers. These irreversible transformations of soil mineralogical composition are responsible for lower cation exchange capacity, structure deterioration, impossibility for stable organo-mineral complexes to be formed
