The effect of 3 graduated irrigation rates on the dynamics of yield formation and quality of the Senga Sengana strawberry variety during the period 1991-1993 was verified. The experiment consisted of 4 variants: A - nonirrigated control, B - irrigation for 50 kPa suction pressure, C - irrigation for 30 kPa suction pressure, and D - irrigation for 20 kPa suction pressure. For verification of the effect of irrigation, subsurface drip irrigation with PREFA hoses was applied. The proportion of choice fruit quality grew with increasing irrigation rate. The proportion of the 1st quality grade grew in the yield up to the level of variant B, and then it dropped towards variant D. The 2nd quality grade and the non-standard did not show any explicit yield development trend in dependence on irrigation rate
