Effect of frequency of Irrigation on grain yield and some agronomic characteristics of annual castor bean: Effect of frequency of irrigation was tested on H 22 annual castor variety at the National Corn Sorghum Research Center on January 30, 1983. Three irrigation intervals (every 7, 14 and 21 days) were assigned. Longer irrigation intervals caused a delay in flowering and a decrease in numbers of primary raceme and grain yield and also tended to reduce raceme weight and numbers of capsule per raceme. Effect of detopping on annual castor bean: Effect of detopping on annual castor bean was evaluated at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center on August 22, 1983 using H 22 variety. Treatments consisted of control and seven dates of detopping ranged from the four-leaf stage up to the ten-leaf stage. Detopping practices caused an increase in numbers of branches bearing primary raceme, numbers of primary raceme and grain yield but a decrease in length of primary raceme. An appropriate date for practicing detopping of H 22 variety was the seven-leaf stage.
