This study was conducted to analyze the effects of genotypes on process of gynogenesis in vitro. Donors of ovaries were plants flowering in the field. After sterilization ovules were excised and inoculated on medium with 0.5 microM NAA and 4.4. microM BA. Ploidy level frequencies were determined in untreated control and treated samples by chromosome counts. Cytogenetic analysis showed a wide range in somatic chromosome number. Haploid, diploid, tetraploid and mixoploid plants were regenerated from unpollinated ovule of sugar beet. By colchicine treatment, plant with significant double chromosome numbers were obtained in the genotype 3071/412
