Prospective new tomato lines for direct planting

This paper represents the prospective tomato lines of determinant type of growing (low plant) favorable for direct planting and standard varieties Novosadski niski, Korona, Heinz 1370 and Narvik. Besides the yield, length of vegetation, fruit dry matter percent, number of fruits per plant and average weight of fruit were investigated. The line L-5 stands out due to its high yield and earliness. The line L-7 stands out due to its high percentage of dry matter (6.3) and large fruit. This line is recommended both for industrial processing and for fresh consumption. The line L-5 gave the highest yield (82.24 t/ha) whereas the line L-7 was at the second place regarding its yield (74.75 t/ha).
