The influence of irrigation on fruit weight change of some major [apple] cultivars during refrigerated storage

The effect of training system (irregular palmette, spidle bush) and irrigation system (drip irrigation) on biophysical and biochemical properties of some apple cultivars (Idared, Golden Delicious, Melrose) was investigated. Based on this study more intensive parameter changes occurred in irrigated fruit variants compared to the non-irrigated ones. Investigated parameters in fruits from irrigated plots had no influence on fruit quality. Fruit storage of investigated apple cultivars was under identical conditions (1 deg C; 85-90 humidity) from October, 1 to April, 1. The results obtained have both scientific and practical significance.
