Phoma lingam on oilseed rape: seed infection, aggressiveness, and control

In Switzerland the most important diseases on oilseed rape are stem canker (Phoma lingam) and white rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum). Aggressive strains could be isolated from imported seeds, diseased plants, and diseased plant debris. From 297 tested P. lingam strains 127 were aggressive and 170 non-aggressive pathotypes. Both groups were controlled in the laboratory with tebuconazol, prochloraz, and fennel oil. In field experiments the seed treatment with tebuconazol + prochloraz partly controlled the disease.
