Tocopherol and tocotrienol contents in cereal grains

Tocopherol and tocotrienol contents in wheat, rye, oats, barley and triticale grains of different genotypes and localities were determined. HPLC method was used for the determination. Vitamin E content was calculated according to the individual tocol contents and their biological activities. The results were subjected to the statistical evaluation including simple description statistics, least significance difference tests and multivariante statistical methods PCA and SLDA. The correlation of total and individual tocopherol and tocotrienol contents and vitamin E contents within and between individual cereals were determinated.
